Transfer/Port Out

Transfer/Port Out

While we would hate to see you go, we also understand things change. Yes, you may transfer your number from PureTalk to another service provider. To transfer a number from PureTalk, customers will need to call in to speak with our Transfer department to have a Transfer PIN generated. Once generated, you will receive a text message containing the 8-digit Transfer PIN. This is the PIN you will use on the port request submitted by your new service provider in addition to the name and address listed on your PureTalk account. In most cases, the transfer process can be completed within just a few hours. To ensure we are able to complete the transfer request as quickly as possible, please make sure all information given to your new provider matches the information on your PureTalk account. Any incorrect information submitted may delay your number transfer. To transfer your number from PureTalk, you can do it in two ways:

  1. Online: Log in to your Customer Portal (link). Go to the "Plan" tab. Choose the phone number you want to transfer from the dropdown menu, then click on "Request Transfer PIN." Do this for each phone number you want to transfer. You will receive a Transfer PIN by text message for each number you requested. Remember, the Transfer PIN will expire in 10 days.
  2. By Phone: You can also call our Porting department at 770-818-3919 for help.
When you switch to a new carrier, they will need some details about your PureTalk account, like your name, address, account number, and the Transfer PIN you received. Each number will have a different PIN.

Please ensure that the information you give to your new carrier matches what’s on your PureTalk account so they can smoothly transfer your number.
Transfer PINs help protect our customers against transfer scams. Our system will generate a Transfer PIN and send it directly to the number you are requesting to transfer to verify you are the one requesting it. Provide the Transfer PIN to your new provider when they are submitting a request to transfer your number. Once your number has been transferred from PureTalk to another service provider, your service with PureTalk for the line being ported out will be cancelled. You will no longer be billed for the line going forward. However, any unpaid balances on your account will still be owed.
