What is a SIM swap?
SIM Swap is a process which activates a new physical or eSIM on your phone number allowing your service to continue on the newly activated SIM. This process deactivates your old SIM meaning you will need to use the newly activated SIM to use your service
How does a SIM swap work?
Once a SIM swap is requested, a text message with an approval link will be sent to the phone number the SIM swap is being performed on. To allow the SIM swap to take place, click the link and approve the request by selecting “Proceed”. If you did not request a SIM swap, you may cancel the request through the link and contact our Customer Service department at (877) 820-7873. If you are unable to receive the link via text, your SIM swap will automatically occur 30-60 minutes after the request was submitted.
Why do I have to approve my SIM swap/replacement SIM card activation?
We are required to provide immediate notice to customers when a SIM swap is requested for their phone number. Customers are required to authorize their SIM swap request to help prevent fraud and provide further protection from scams.
How do I activate a replacement SIM?
Activating a replacement SIM or SIM swap can only be performed by a PureTalk agent. You may reach our Customer Service department at (877) 820-7873.
