FAQs
PureTalk offers up to 5G data speeds on our nationwide network. Speeds during your high-speed data allotment are determined by network availability and your device — we do not artificially cap speeds during your allotment, and we do not throttle based on network congestion.
Once you reach your plan’s high-speed data allotment, speeds are reduced for the remainder of your billing cycle.
To access 5G speeds, you need a 5G-capable device in a 5G coverage area.
PureTalk's Second Number PureTalk is a feature available on our $44.99 and higher plans. It lets you add an extra PureTalk number on the same phone you are using for your main line.
Second Number includes Unlimited Talk & Text. Data is not included with this feature, so any data usage will come from your main PureTalk line. Not all devices are compatible with Second Number.
Once you reach your plan’s high-speed data allotment, your data speed is reduced for the remainder of your billing cycle, and you may experience changes in the performance of data intensive applications such as streaming video or online gaming.
You will never be charged overage fees. If you need more high-speed data before your next bill date, you can purchase additional data from the “Add-Ons” page in your Account Portal. If you consistently need more data, upgrading your plan is available anytime in theAccount Portal.
PureTalk does not practice congestion-based data de-prioritization. That means your speeds will not be reduced simply because the network is busy — you are never queued behind other customers during peak usage periods.
Please note that this is separate from our usage-based speed management policy: once you use your plan’s high-speed data allotment, speeds are reduced for the remainder of your billing cycle regardless of network conditions.
